The Inside Scoop
The LA Food Fest has always been about creating opportunities for small indie chefs, restaurants, and caterers you've never heard about but should. Every year we field hundreds of entries to the event that we narrow down at a series of open call blind tastings with 50+ tasters to vote on the goods. Everyone who makes it through that process gets featured at the Fest!
Every year our international guest chefs bring excitement, creativity, talent and unique flavor profiles to the Fest. This year is no different. The Nuevo Gastropub will host an international rotation of chefs; all giving their take on modern “parrillada”(Latin BBQ), from Food Fest vet Dante Ferrero (Mexico City’s famed Dante Brasa y Fuego)’s primal cuts coal-grilled on-site, to eats as diverse as organic vegan tacos and grilled plantain …
There’s a whole lot of food magic wrapped up in this year’s LA Food Fest including visiting chefs, local brews, and even a few *ahem* bugs to munch on.
